For the last mini-challenge before the big finale, the judges decided to test the remaining designers’ ability to drape – one of the more difficult skills to hone. Given just 2 yards of fabric, 12 pins and 20 minutes, Isaac told the contestants to create an ‘incredible’ garment. Daniella’s flawless construction proved her sophistication as a designer and led her to win the challenge.
The final elimination competition proved to be simple enough – create an evening gown exaggerated with Swarovski crystals. However, Isaac gave the designers one last surprise – an eliminated contestant would help them construct the final garment!
Since Daniella won the mini-challenge, she was given the first pick. After choosing good friend Haven, they began designing a charcoal dress with embroidered crystals around the neckline. Reco and castoff Andrew started creating a bright pink and purple sleeveless evening dress, but pompous Reco wouldn’t let Andrew help sew a thing!
When it came to show time, the audience loved both Anna and Daniella’s designs. Guest judge Isabel Toledo (a.k.a. the queen of draping) agreed Daniella’s gown really sparkled on the catwalk, naming her winner!
The audience voted Johnny and James-Paul into the bottom two. The judges agreed James-Paul’s black velvet goth-like dress was too costumey. However, Johnny’s garment was a complete knock off of a recent dress worn by Maggie Gyllenhaal. With that, the judges decided to ‘knock him off’ the competition.
With only the final catwalk challenge to go, we’ll see who makes it out on top! After next week’s challenge, don’t forget to vote for who you think should be the winner of The Fashion Show!
Even if Johnny didn't make the cut, the hair however, was amazing. For salon-perfect hair that can stand up to any competition, go to:

The pressure is on! Being eliminated this week is the difference between going home and showcasing your collection in the final fashion show. Designing an evening gown made for a glamorous competition. Although, the controversial knock-off by Johnny was disappointing. Original or not, it was a downer (and embarrassing I might add) to be reprimanded by industry insiders.
Don’t miss next week's show where the remaining designers showcase an entire collection for the world to see. Best part is, America gets to vote on the finalist. It is real fashion for real people after all. Tune-in to BRAVO next Thursday night to vote!
Why does Reco have to be "pompous"? Reco just seems very sure of him self and knows how he wants his original designs to look!
