Greetings, Savvy Style Seekers!

It started off as a dark and dreary Day 2 of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week with grey skies and rainy weather. But under the tents...there was the beautiful scent of hairspray, new shoes, and color was blooming everywhere!

First, let me tell you about last night in NYC. The entire city was buzzing about Fashion Night Out – the brainchild of Vogue Editor-In-Chief Anna Wintour (story goes she was the inspiration for The Devil Wears Prada!) – a shopping experience to “encourage the fun of fashion”. Hundreds of stores across all five NYC boroughs (and even a few other countries!) were open until 11pm and had ton of surprises. Tracy Reese’s store offered manis and eye brow shaping, and you could hear the Theory store in the Meatpacking district blocks away with a bumping DJ spinning tunes. Celeb spottings: Victoria Beckham at Bergdorfs, Kate Hudson and Debra Messing at two Macy’s locations, Charlize Theron signing her Vogue cover at Dior, Sienna Miller and Rihanna at Intermix, Justin Timberlake, SJP, Gwen Stefani, Blake Lively and Penn Badgley, Cindy Crawford, Chase Crawford, Kristin Cavallari….seriously, the list could go on…it was celeb-a-palooza!

Charlotte Ronson showed this afternoon – always one of my faves. Celeb attendees included: Nicky Hilton, Jessica Stroup (of 90210…I love!), Russell Simmons, Samantha Ronson (who handled the tunes) and Keri Hilson. Charlotte’s collection had stunning plays on texture – sheer with leather, flowing tops with studded belts….kind of made me want to put on lipstick and buy brass knuckles…

Later that afternoon was Nicole Miller who donned 80’s-style jackets and feminine dresses with a bit of a biker edge. And the hair was stunning – smooth and sophisticated half up with a bit of volume at the crown.

So…we need to take a moment to talk about the Erin Wasson for RVCA collection. We were pulled in at the last minute when a few seats opened up. It was mayhem! Tons of cameras going off for solialites and models sitting front row. Taylor Momsen of Gossip Girl with a bunch of friends across from…wait for it….wait for it…BRUCE WILLIS! The show was just as wild as the crowd. Models walked to a live band, and there was no runway. Instead, it was covered with a black carpet. The lights stayed off the entire time except for the spotlights on the models…super wild!

Quite a day under the tents!

Stay tuned for more tomorrow,

TRESemmé® StyleSeeker says:

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is in full swing with a fabulous Day 2 in the action-packed tents of Bryant Park. Models worked the runways with tight, sleek, pulled-back hair for a serious look. Use TRESemmé Anti-Frizz Secret Smoothing Crème and TRESemmé Frizz Shield Finishing Spray to lock out frizz (even in rainy conditions like today!) and keep hair ultra-smooth for this sleek style.

This sounds really cool! I like the idea of the runway being a black carpet rather then well.. a runway :P Taylor Momsen is really cute. Any idea who does her hair? In other thoughts... I hope she wasn't WITH Bruce WIllis!
